Some authors say that loneliness makes them regret every decision they have ever made.
I can relate.
In those windswept moments,
It is my home that is at the core of my feeling.
If I had left it behind,
Maybe the tetris game of life would have brought the sense of connection I desire tonight.
But every home was just another adventure in loneliness.
And what I really need,
Is to connect to myself.
Engage and know myself,
Be a friend to myself.
The warmth of connection lies in that skill.
Other people can distract us,
But inevitably, the peace comes,
From connecting to ourselves.
